I had this handy dandy Starbucks card that Nyna had gotten me for Christmas. Coffee connoisseur that I am, I had been steadily dipping into the resources on this card ever since Christmas, and was down to my last dollar (roughly). So I walk into Starbucks and order a coffee of the day, hand over my card, and expect to be asked for another forty-nine cents or so (perish the thought anything should cost just a dollar at Starbucks), when nice lady behind the counter does not, in fact, ask for more money, but hands my card back with my receipt. I check the receipt and the balance left on the card is $17.50.
Is that not snazzy? I was purdy jazzed m’self!

The Latest , add a commentBloody annoying that this kind of stuff is so common now that you can no longer run through the house and joyfully yelp “the Endtime is coming!!!!!” when you read it! Although I ’spose it makes all kinds of sense for the AC to innoculate the masses to this kind of thing and get them numb to it. Sneaky little monkey!

I gotta figure out how to get more of a witness on this site. I forget sometimes that the this blog is not just available to Family members. But even if most of the traffic is from Family, as per Shooting Straight 18 my blog should be: “[A] source of reaching out to one another and encouraging each other in the faith. It provides moral support and positive peer influence to those who view it.” I dunno, as faith-building as I’m sure it is to hear about things like my take on Uncle Jim and co., my happy place and the picture I keep on my wall, I somehow feel like I could be doing more to consistently live up to the standard put forth in SS 18.
I ’spose I could post quotes that speak to me more often, but I’d like something a little more original. Not that the word isn’t original, I just need want a more original way to get it out there. Random Quote plugin is always an option, less labor intensive too. I could also post more personal stuff, battles, victories, “what I learned today” etc. It would no doubt do wonders for keeping a leash on my pride, since posting real personal stuff is not easy for me, so that’s another option.
Any other ideas? Trying to think of something unique and effective here….

Name withheld for protection: “I’m prefering myself so you don’t have to.”
Of course he was joking, Dan is actually a very unselfish fellow.

The Latest , 3 comments by Trama and Marie.I spent at least four minutes thinking of a title for this post and couldn’t, so I had Angel say the first three words that popped into her head, and there you have it (personally, I think this indicates that Angel has a crush on Jason - you know - redhead and all)
Anyway, so we went on this cruise which was pretty much pretty fun. It started out with an 18 hour drive to San Antonio to the Fiesta Home (thanks for putting us up and letting us adventure with you, folks) The drive was not so much fun since we didn’t stop or sleep or anything, but Chuck and I were still friends at the end of it, which is a pretty big victory, so PTL! Then we uh…..went on this cruise. It’s all kind of a blur to me now, which means I had fun. I hit my main target on this vacation and that was to spend more hours sleeping than waking. I also got great kicks out of following Justin around and shouting “OMG!!! It’s Justin Spirit from SOE!!!” It truly was the garden of Eden as far as food, service, and long quality hours with just me and my pillow. It’s going to be a strange and terrible experience to have to wake up at 7:00 again, cook my own food and make my own bed, but hey, if you didn’t expect to go to war, etc. etc.
Got to see chum Anita after the cruise and meet Liz and her baby, who is so cute that I believe he made my biological clock start ticking. There are pictures galore on these blogs and merry accounts of the adventure so I’ll pretty much leave it at that since blogging about what I do doesn’t really inspire me, I don’t know why. All in all, it was great amounts of good clean fun. Great meeting all you swell folks out there, thanks for letting us be a part of your Home for a bit! And just so you don’t get the wrong impression, I actually do function as a waking human being when I’m not on vacation.
In following with a trend begun by Angel, here are pictures of food.
