This evening, they are in the kids room watching after their baby daughters in the most attentive and tender manner…..while they discuss - most animatedly - the technique of gopher slaughter.
Sam: “And then I took a ____ and ran it through its ______ and its whole ______ was hanging out of its ______ and then its ______ popped out and there was _____ everywhere.”
Justin: “Dude!”

I know… Angie (of Jon) and I were in the kitchen — with our baby daughters and we got the full rundown of every gruesome gopher murder Sam has participated in. UGH! Long live the gophers… and woe be to Sam should gophers ever rule the world.
The gopher stories. I hate them! But Sam has many other loveable things about him. Woe be to many of us if gophers rule the world, especially to me as I will be a widow.
